Job Summary:
- Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems
- May perform phlebotomy as needed
- Hours: 8-5, Monday through Friday (Potential Flex hours 9:-5 or 9:30 – 6:00)
Required Skills & Experience (3 years):
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions
- Prior experience in clinical labs, handling specimens and comfortable in PPE
- A fair amount of testing is prenatal testing
- Important: Our Client is looking for a resource with sample receipt and accessioning, and lab bench experience rather than phlebotomy
Required Education:
- Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science
Technology:
- Epic, Sunquest CoPathPlush (LIS)
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA)
- BLS , MLT is plus
