We are seeking a highly skilled Azure/Entra Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Entra ID Governance, Entra Connect, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and Conditional Access Policies (CAP). This role requires a hands-on expert who can provide architectural guidance, implementation leadership, and operational support for identity and access management (IAM) solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the go-to technical expert on Microsoft Entra technologies, including Entra ID, Entra Connect, and Entra ID Governance.
- Design, implement, and maintain identity federation and synchronization using Entra Connect and ADFS.
- Develop and manage Conditional Access Policies (CAP) to enhance security posture while balancing user productivity.
- Provide architectural and operational support for hybrid identity environments integrating Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to identity synchronization, authentication, and authorization.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to align identity services with organizational requirements.
- Evaluate existing IAM solutions and provide recommendations for improvement or modernization.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including design diagrams, operational procedures, and technical specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert in Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD) and associated technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Entra Connect (Azure AD Connect), Entra ID Governance, and ADFS.
- Expertise in designing and implementing Conditional Access Policies (CAP) in enterprise environments.
- Deep understanding of Active Directory, including domain trust relationships, GPOs, and replication.
- Experience with hybrid identity models and cloud identity architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex identity-related issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as SC-300, AZ-500, or MS-100.
- Experience with Zero Trust security frameworks and identity-centric security models.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, etc.) for identity management.
- Prior experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., government, healthcare, finance)
