Job Title: BHS Inpatient Social Worker
Job Summary:
- The Social Worker works with the psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team in developing and managing treatment plans.
- Serves as liaison in relation to patient care and needs, between the hospital, community, and insurers to facilitate access to clinical treatment for individuals
- Provides social services to both adult and child/adolescent patients
- Services include but are not limited to bio-psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, individual and family education and group
- Therapy Social Workers provides individual, conjoint, group and family psychotherapy; in addition to crisis intervention services, as needed.
- Ensures that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient centered timely, efficient and equitable
- Social workers also serve on designated committees and as qualified, may serve as field instructors for social work
Required Skills & Experience:
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective social work care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional social work services
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
Required:
- 2-3 years social work experience
- Master’s from accredited school of social work
- Current LMSW certification
- Previous travel experience
- Previous recent inpatient behavioral health experience
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to perform intake assessment
- Experience leading groups
- Experience charting in EMR/EMH system
Preferred:
- EPIC charting experience
- Discharge planning experience
- Will be working in the Charles Anderson Building at Jackson main campus
- 27 bed unit with average caseload of 4-8 patients dependent upon current census
- Candidates will be required to have weekend availability as that is one of the main gaps in staffing that we are looking to fill.
Required Education:
- Graduation from an accredited school of social work with a master’s degree
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Current Licensed Master Social Work
