JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Healthcare AI/ML Researcher to drive innovative machine learning and AI research within the healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and validate novel AI/ML models using healthcare data to improve clinical, operational, and population health outcomes. This role blends advanced quantitative methods, healthcare domain knowledge, and applied research to develop solutions that can be deployed at scale.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct research on advanced AI and machine learning methods applicable to healthcare data (claims, EHRs, imaging, genomics, or population health datasets).

Develop, implement, and evaluate novel ML algorithms for predictive modeling, NLP, reinforcement learning, and deep learning tasks.

Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, clinical experts, and product teams to translate research into actionable solutions.

Design experiments and validation pipelines to ensure model robustness, fairness, and clinical relevance.

Publish research findings in academic journals, conferences, or internal white papers.

Stay current with state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques and healthcare research.
- Support AI governance, explainability, and compliance requirements for research-to-production models.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.

Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, or related AI techniques.

Experience working with healthcare data (EHRs, claims, imaging, clinical trials, or genomics) preferred.

Strong programming skills in Python, R, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

Proven research experience (publications, conference presentations, or open-source contributions).

Ability to communicate complex research to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in healthcare AI/ML projects in insurance, clinical, or population health domains.

Familiarity with HIPAA, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in healthcare.

Experience with model deployment pipelines, MLOps, or AI governance.
- Collaborative experience bridging research and applied product development.
