    • 2:30pm-11:00pm or 8:30pm-07:00am, times are flexible

Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs routine and complex laboratory testing on blood, body fluids, and other specimens using manual techniques, laboratory instruments, and information systems. Ensures accurate and timely test results while following established laboratory procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex analytical testing on blood, body fluids, and other clinical specimens.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including Beckman analyzers.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
  • Analyze test results, identify abnormalities, and take appropriate action according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and enter test results into laboratory information systems.
  • Perform manual testing techniques and troubleshoot instrumentation or testing issues as needed.
  • Ensure specimen integrity and proper handling throughout the testing process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications
Required

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge of laboratory procedures.
  • Experience with Beckman laboratory instruments required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certification at the technologist level through a nationally recognized organization such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW preferred.
  • International coursework must be verified through a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if coursework aligns with the position requirements.

Required Certification & Licensure

  • Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
