Title: Medical Technologist – Lab Technologist
Location: Onsite – Clinton Township, MI

• 10:30pm-9am

• Shift: 10:30pm – 9am; 4- days a week
• Every other weekend is required
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
Key Responsibilities

Performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens.

Performs laboratory procedures involving manual techniques.

Utilizes laboratory instruments and information systems to perform assigned procedures.

Performs laboratory functions in accordance with established requirements and procedures.

Demonstrates technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
Qualifications
Required
-
Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position.

Coursework completed outside of the US must be verified by a NACES approved credential evaluation service.

Requires six months experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions are required.

Haematology experience required.

BLS required.
Required Certification & Licensure
-
BLS.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
-
Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum 6 months experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Hematology experience required.
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
