Job Summary
The Physical Therapist provides direct, patient-centered care using age-specific standards of practice across diverse patient populations. The role evaluates patient needs, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and collaborates with healthcare team members to achieve functional and patient-centered goals.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct physical therapy services to patients across various age groups.

Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs and functional goals.

Deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, function, and quality of life.

Apply age-specific standards of practice for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, progress, and outcomes.

Perform other related physical therapy duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy with 5 years of experience, OR
-
Master’s or Doctorate degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited program. 2 Years

Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of care standards for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Certification & Licensure
-
Valid, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the State of Michigan.

Current BLS certification
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
