Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients
- Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients
- Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned
- Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs
- Adequately documents all aspects of patient care
- Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned
- Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information
REQUIRED:
- 2+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, Associate of Science Degree, Current registration, current licensure, and BLS certification from AHA
- Candidates that have neonatal intensive care experience would be a plus but it is not required.
- Candidates that have experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required.
Required Education:
- Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Current License – Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan
- BLS
