Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Onsite -Detroit, MI
Shift Hours:
• (1) 7am – 7pm and (1) 7pm – 7am
Schedule Notes:
• Edu & Certs: Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program, Certified RRT, Licensed – Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan and BLS
• Must be: Trained NICU experience, Additional skills Peds ICU, Neo Natal exp preferred
• Must have: 1.5+ Years of experience in a ICU/Floor setting
• Tech: EPIC experience required
• Additional exp with Puritan 980 machine, Hamilton Transport, Servo U experience preferred
• ABG Competent
• PLEASE NOTE: Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) will NOT be accepted under any circumstances
• Submitted candidates must have shift preference listed
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients. Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs. Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Required
-
Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.

Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.

Must have 1.5+ Years of experience in a ICU/Floor setting.

Must be trained in NICU experience.
-
ABG Competent.
-
EPIC experience required.

Additional experience with Puritan 980 machine, Hamilton Transport, Servo U experience preferred.

Peds ICU experience preferred.

Neo Natal experience preferred.

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
