The Retail Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales, enrollment, retention, and community engagement objectives for the Retail Center. This role provides consultative sales and service to prospective and existing customers, recommends appropriate health, wellness, and income protection products, manages sales leads, and develops community relationships to generate new business and strengthen customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultative sales and service through face-to-face, phone, and electronic interactions.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, benefits, and solutions.
- Conduct product comparisons, presentations, enrollments, and customer education sessions.
- Manage leads through daily outbound calls, follow-up activities, appointment setting, and timely documentation.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales, retention, customer satisfaction, and productivity targets.
- Identify at-risk customers and develop strategies to support retention and loyalty.
- Generate referrals and cross-sell products and services to existing customers.
- Build community awareness through networking, grassroots marketing, events, employer outreach, and business development activities.
- Develop relationships with local organizations, networking groups, and other community partners.
- Support Retail Center events, seminars, promotional activities, and enrollment programs.
- Maintain accurate customer and activity records using web-based sales and business systems.
- Adapt quickly to changing business priorities, processes, technologies, and customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of related experience, preferably in a retail sales environment.
- Active Florida 2-15 and/or 2-40 insurance license.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and web-based applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling health insurance, including individual and group products.
- Outside sales or business development experience.
- Experience with networking, public speaking, community engagement, and relationship management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
