Shift Hours • 6:00 PM-6:30 AM
Schedule Notes • OT Billed after 48 hours • REQUIRED: Minimum 2 years ED RN experience, Nursing degree, BLS certification from AHA, MI RN licensure, Previous experience in a Trauma Level 2 ED
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education. The role communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members while identifying and implementing solutions to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate safe, quality, compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
- Provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education.
- Develop and implement effective nursing care plans based on patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress and identify variances from established care goals.
- Communicate pertinent patient and family information to physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Participate in identifying and implementing solutions to address patient care needs.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and hospital personnel to support positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation.
- Perform other related nursing duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience.
- Previous experience working in a Trauma Level II Emergency Department.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Michigan RN licensure.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills necessary to develop effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare personnel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)..
Required Certification & Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
