Location: Onsite – Jackson, MI
Schedule & Facility Notes:

  • 12.00 hours per day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
  • Worker is required to float to an equal or lesser acuity unit if requested.
  • 13-week contract.
  • Auto Offers Approved.
  • OT billed after 48 hours.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg provides compassionate, high-quality patient care while coordinating and delivering individualized nursing services. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while providing education and support to patients and their families. This role also collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes and address changes or variances in patient goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care in accordance with established nursing standards and procedures.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding care, treatment plans, and health needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Identify variances from patient goals and participate in developing and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Provide a wide variety of professional nursing services based on patient needs and department requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing interventions.
  • Promote patient safety, quality care, and compassionate service throughout the patient experience.

Qualifications
Required

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – Current Michigan licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
