We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead testing efforts for complex data integration initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of data processed through AWS RDS databases, particularly CSV file extracts and their impact on downstream systems.
The Test Manager will oversee the end-to-end testing lifecycle, coordinate activities across cross-functional teams, and act as the primary escalation point for testing-related issues. They will provide clear, data-driven testing reports to senior management and ensure all testing aligns with project timelines, business goals, and compliance standards.
This is a strategic role that requires strong leadership, deep domain expertise in financial services, and hands-on experience with data validation, test automation, and cloud-based testing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage testing efforts for data integration and financial systems, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Oversee end-to-end testing of file extracts (CSV), ETL workflows, and database validation in an AWS RDS environment.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and methodologies tailored to data-intensive projects.
- Coordinate testing activities across multiple downstream systems and cross-functional teams.
- Act as the primary liaison between development, QA, and business teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Provide detailed, aggregated testing status reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior management.
- Ensure test case coverage aligns with business and technical requirements using tools such as Qtest and JIRA.
- Guide test teams in authoring test cases using BDD practices and Gherkin syntax.
- Support the implementation and governance of automation frameworks and testing standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to align on configuration management and build processes.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for complex data validation and integration issues.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying test process gaps and recommending enhancements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 8+ years of formal software testing experience, with at least 5 years in a Test Manager or leadership capacity.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to guide, mentor, and motivate testing teams.
- Deep understanding of data integration testing, including file-based (CSV), ETL processes, and RDS database validation within AWS environments.
- Expertise in tools such as JIRA, Qtest, Postman, Swagger, and test automation tools (Selenium, Cucumber).
- Proficient in testing Web Services (REST/SOAP) and working with data formats such as XML and JSON.
- Familiarity with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodologies and writing test cases in Gherkin format.
- Experience with automation tool evaluation, selection, and implementation across UI and API layers.
- Solid understanding of automated build processes, configuration management, and requirements management systems.
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially in identifying data issues across distributed systems.
- Proven ability to present complex testing insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
